Lily Gulch Soaps - About Us
Lily Gulch Soaps is a small, specialty soapmaking company located in the beautiful mountains of Evergreen, Colorado. I am the owner, sole employee and resident soapmaker! My husband, Ron, recently built a lovely studio for me after many years of making soap in our kitchen. Word of mouth has created such a demand for my handmade soaps that in 2005, after my three children, Jocelyn, Madeline and Jared were finally in school full-time, I made the natural progression into running my own company. "Lily Gulch Soaps" is named after the pretty little gulch behind my studio where a rare tiger lily grows and blooms every July!
I am passionate about soapmaking and can honestly say Lily Gulch Soaps are "handmade with love". I took a soapmaking class about 8 years ago in Cheyenne, Wyoming, along with my sister, Deb, and have been "hooked" ever since! I've always had sensitive skin and am unable to use most store-bought soaps, so making natural handmade soaps was the perfect solution. My husband likes to joke that we haven't had a "normal" bar of soap in our house for ages. He loves them - and so do my family and friends!
Over the years, I have developed a unique recipe that produces premium quality "cold-processed soaps" which contain natural glycerin to help retain moisture. Lily Gulch Soaps are made from scratch in small batches with pomace olive oil, palm kernel oil, coconut oil, filtered water and sodium hydroxide (lye), rosemary extract as a natural preservative, and are enriched with sweet almond oil. They are scented with pure essential oils to provide aromatherapy benefits, and no animal products or artificial ingredients are used. Herbs, spices and natural botanicals are added, depending upon the type of soap, to provide texture for gentle exfoliation as well as natural coloring. You can feel the difference in soaps made with quality, all vegetable & all natural ingredients - your skin will feel noticeably softer! My soaps are also super-fatted to make them extra moisturizing, and they even lather well in hard water! Each bar is hand-cut and trimmed for an approximate weight of 4.5 ounces.
Lily Gulch Soaps are available two ways; "Gift-wrapped" in a colorful organza bag with embossed gold foil seal; and "Regular" with a Kraft paper band and pretty matching label. For those interested in natural bath accessories, I offer a nice selection of products to use with my soaps; wooden soap dishes, handcrafted pottery soap dishes, natural bristle body brushes, pumice, natural sisal fiber and soft boucle bath items, wooden combs and hair brushes and slippers. These make wonderful gifts. Please see my selection of unique and attractive gifts sets perfect for any occasion.
My soaps come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I truly believe that you will love them or your money back - it's that simple. Enjoy!
